Hello! Would love to find out how to become a judge for the next Sofi Awards. I’m a food lover, with a great sense of detail and judgment. Please let me know if there is a specific criteria, like, are all the judges chefs or food writers?
    Thanks for your reply!

  2. Silvia,
We select the judges on numerous criteria. They are selected by the executive team at the NASFT. Some are part of our advisory board. Others are known experts in the industry. Some have won NASFT retailer of the year awards, and other have been featured in cover stories in our magazine, Specialty Food Magazine. We have a judging at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York and any qualified retailer or foodservice professional is welcome to judge the sofi Silver Finalists to help select the gold winners. If you fit that bill and attend the show, please seek out the sofi judging area. Close to 300 people participate. We tabulate the results at the show and announce the gold winners at the show in a special ceremony.

    Thanks, Louise
