And even with all the air conditioning in the Javits, the action was even hotter than day one.
Starting right at 10am, a great surge of foodservice buyers and retailers made their way down to the sofi Awards judging area to taste the samples of the 140 Silver Medalists and cast their votes as to who they wanted to see win gold.
The social marketing teams in the Exhibitor Lounge were busy non stop showing exhibitors how to better reach out through Twitter and Facebook.
Then came word that many of the press was there in force including Martha Stewart Radio, Brides Magazine, Food Network, Bloomberg, and Family Circle.
All the while, handfuls of notable chefs were creating savory meals that would capture the imaginations of those walking by.
Foodservice retailers and buyers were making connections throughout the day and on every level. Later in the afternoon, Executive Chef Dan Barber of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns told a brilliant story about how almonds and carrots came together memorably in his restaurant.
One of Time Magazine’s Most Influential People, Mr. Barber crafted a memorable address that left each of the attendees realizing that they have a back story to each and every one of their products.
And then came the sofi Awards.
